PRINCE GEORGE — Graham Yeulet continues to fight for his life after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Ospika and Davis on October 4. He is being taken care of in a Vancouver hospital with severe head injuries and multiple bone fractures and his mother and partner by his side.

“I have known no greater pain than to be at the bedside of my son watching him fight for his life,” his mother, Kathy, said over the phone.

Julie Sorensen, Graham’s partner, said they have lived in the area for roughly three years and lead an active lifestyle, frequently taking walks and runs in the area with their three dogs. She said they know how dangerous it can be despite the recently improved safety measures taken by the City. It was one of a few intersections to receive upgrades in recent memory.

“There needs to be some sort of advanced warning that there is a crosswalk coming up that hill for people to think about that,” said Sorensen. “I think a better system would be for one of those red light pedestrian crossings like we see in other places.”

A GoFundMe has been set up by a friend with the goal of raising $75,000 to help get the family through this time.
