167 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., 2 in Northern Health

VICTORIA–167 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., including one epi-linked case, were reported this afternoon (Oct.20) bringing the province’s total to 11,854 since the start of the pandemic.

Of those two are in the Northern Health region for a total of 357.

Cases by Health Region:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 4,175
  • Fraser Health: 6,366
  • Vancouver Island Health: 244
  • Interior Health: 624
  • Northern Health: 357
  • People who reside outside of Canada: 88

There is one new death for a total of 254 in B.C. There are 1,688 active cases of the virus. 69 people in hospital of who 18 are in ICU. 4,156 people are under active public health monitoring as a result of identified exposure to known cases.

There are three new health care facility outbreaks, while three were declared over for a total of 19 active outbreaks in the health care system. No new community outbreaks were reported.
