338 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Northern Health

PRINCE GEORGE—338 people in the Northern Health region have recovered from COVID-19 according to B.C.’s COVID-19 dashboard.

There have been a total of 357 reported test-positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic back in March. 27 of those have been categorized as being epi-linked cases. What is an epi-linked case?

“‘Epi-linked’ means that public health investigations have shown that cases meet the case definition for COVID-19 but may not have been tested for a number of reasons.”—Joint statement by Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, and Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s provincial health officer (July 7, 2020)

A total of 31 people have been hospitalized in the north, at the moment there is one person in hospital who is also in ICU.

16 cases are considered active, and we remain at a total of 3 deaths in the north. Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry and Deputy Minister of Health, Stephen Brown will provide a statement this afternoon (Oct.21) on new COVID-19 numbers.
