RCMP continue to investigate 16-year-old missing person case
DAWSON CREEK–RCMP continue to investigate a case of a missing person last seen 16 years ago.
Eva Mitchell was reported missing by a family member on August 20th 2004, when she did not return home. Mitchell was last seen at approximately 10 a.m. on the same day she was reported missing. RCMP say that she did not live a high-risk lifestyle.
Police say that Mitchell was known to frequently walk in the wilderness to pick berries without informing others. Between Aug.21 and Aug.30, 2004 a search with more than 500 people was conducted in the Kelly Lake area including the use of two RCMP helicopters, police dogs, swimming searchers, and ground search and rescue teams from across B.C.
