Webber ready to defend her title

Despite the uncertainty of competitions and travel at this time due to Covid-19, powerlifter Tara Webber will be competing this weekend south of the border.

She will be defending her WPO Championship at the Championships in Chicago.

The last few months have been busy when it comes to training for the event.

“We generally changed in 16-week cycles,” explained Webber to CKPG.

“The last month is where things change a little bit. At 21 days out you do your last heavy squat. 14 days out you do your last heavy bench. Then the last two weeks it kind of dies down a bit.”

Not only is Webber hoping to defend her title, but is also hoping to put some big numbers at the competition.

“I’d like to be squatting 750. I’d like to be close to 400 bench press and I would like to be around 500-530 for deadlift.”
