Armed robbery at local gas station

PRINCE GEORGE–A person was taken into custody following an early afternoon armed robbery at a local gas station this afternoon (Oct.23).

At around 1:15 p.m. on Friday, (Oct.23) Prince George RCMP received a report of a commercial robbery at the Petro-Canada on the corner of 5th Ave. and Carney St.

“Initial indications were that a male entered the business, produced a knife and demanded cash. He fled on foot before police could be called.”–Release by Prince George RCMP

Multiple frontline officers, including a Police Dog Service team, responded. A search of the area led officers to arrest an 18-year-old male near the corner of 3rd Ave. and Carney St. at around 2 p.m.

No injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
