Smoke may be seen near Puntzi Mountain Airport

WILLIAMS LAKE—Smoke may be visible near Puntzi Mountain Airport over the next several months.

The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) will burn 60 piles of woody debris as part of a wildfire risk reduction project near Puntzi Mountain Airport—50 kms west of Alexis Creek.

“Burning may commence as early as Friday, Oct. 23, 2020 and continue periodically until April 30, 2021.”—Release by the BC Wildfire Service

Burn times will depend on weather, site conditions, venting conditions and snow cover. Burns will only be conducted when conditions are suitable.
