VANCOUVER–Andrew Wilkinson is stepping down.
The BC Liberal Candidate who ran for Premier in the 2020 B.C. Elections made his brief announcement this afternoon (Oct.26).
Wilkinson will stay on as leader until a successor is chosen. Wilkinson did not take questions from the media.

Wilkinson made the announcement after the NDP won a resounding majority government over the weekend.
He took on the job as Liberal leader in 2018, replacing Christy Clark, who stepped down when the Liberals lost power after the 2017 election.
MLA-Elect for Prince George-Mackenzie Mike Morris call s what Wilkinson did “honourable,” but adds, change is in the wind.
“With age comes wisdom most of the time. So we need wisdom but we also need something that attracts our voters,” says Morris. “We need to re-evaluate what the BC Liberals stand for. Remember, it’s a coalition party. Re-brand ourselves and come out renewed with vim and vigour that will meet the needs of today’s voter.”
Wilkinson, who is 63, served in several cabinet positions when in government, including justice and advanced education.
