PRINCE GEORGE – Westwood Church had planned to hold their first in-person service this Sunday, but they have had to postpone it due to a COVID-19 exposure.

Westwood Church issued the statement, saying the exposure happened some time between October 14 to 29. The church is voluntarily postponing their scheduled in-person service.

Lead Pastor, Rob Dyck, says the church has been in contact with members and is working with public health authorities.

Dyck says “we immediately took action to address the challenges that come with that, by contacting those who could have been exposed.”

Eryn Collins Regional Manager of Public Affairs & Media Relations for Northern Health says that this would not be considered a public exposure.

Collins says “a public exposure is issued when public health officials are unable to ensure they can identify and directly make contact with everybody who may have been exposed to a potentially infectious case of COVID-19.”

The church’s website shows that the in-person service has been rescheduled for November 15.
