IIO Concludes investigation into Prince George incident

PRINCE GEORGE – B.C.’s Independent Investigations Office (IIO) has concluded it’s report into an incident that occured in Prince George in October.

According to the release, a man was arrested by RCMP on October 1 at George Street and 1st Avenue. He attended court later that day and was transferred to the Prince George Regional Correction Centre.

On October 3 the man was found deceased in his cell. The IIO launched an investigation.

The IIO’s Chief Civilian Director has reviewed the evidence, including video evidence and medical information, and has concluded that the man’s death is not a result of the actions or inaction of the any officers.
