Serious crash prompts winter driving warning from RCMP
DAWSON CREEK — A serious motor vehicle collision this week has the RCMP warning the public about the dangers of winter driving.
Staff Sgt. Damon Werrell, detachment commander of the Dawson Creek RCMP, says the crash occurred on Monday night just before 6:30 p.m. on Highway 97S and Braden Road.
“Investigation determined that a vehicle traveling southbound on Braden Road failed to come to a stop prior to entering the highway resulting in a collision with two other vehicles,” he says.
“Roadways were snow-covered and slippery at the time, with the region just having ended a snowfall warning. Serious and life threatening injuries resulted with one of the drivers being airlifted to Vancouver for urgent treatment.”
