Positive COVID-19 case identified at secondary school in Williams Lake

WILLIAMS LAKE — School District 27 says a member of the Lake City Secondary school community in Williams Lake has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a notice posted to its Facebook page, the district says the Interior Health Authority confirmed the case and is working with the school on contact tracing.

Interior Health’s exposure list cites November 17, 18 and 19 as potential exposure dates. The individual is self-isolating at home with support from local public health teams.

S.D. 27 says the safety and well being of students, staff, and families is the highest priority, and it will continue to implement COVID-19 precautions to make sure everyone can attend school safely.
