Quesnel RCMP to host first “Stuff-A-Cruiser” Campaign
QUESNEL — Families in Quesnel needing extra support over the holiday season will get some courtesy the Quesnel RCMP. For the first time, a Stuff-A-Cruiser Campaign will provide some holiday cheer by, fittingly, stuffing a police cruiser full of donated goods. Donations will then be given to the Quesnel Salvation Army’s Food Bank, the Senior’s Voice Society, and for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Quesnel.
On December 5 and 6 between 9am and 2pm, local Mounties will set up at West Park Mall to accept donations. They are looking for non-perishable food, unopened toys for children between the ages of 6 and 12, winter clothing, and hygiene products.
“Many citizens of Quesnel have suffered a financial impact during the COVID-19 pandemic, which in turn is affecting them during the holiday season,” said Cst. Matt McGregor of the Quesnel RCMP in a statement. “By showing our love and compassion, we can donate food, clothing, and toys to those that need them over Christmas, and the hard times that lie ahead.”
The donation area will be set up with COVID-19 safety precautions in place. There will be a drive-thru donation area, as well as a traditional drop-off for goods. If you cannot attend and wish to make a donation before the event, donations will be accepted at the Quesnel RCMP Detachment, Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm.
