PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP members were busy Saturday on the kick-off event for the annual holiday check-stop season.
Cst. Jennifer Cooper says in six hours, local Mounties conducted 2,500 vehicle checks and performed 50 approved screening device tests with a pass rating.
As a result of this enforcement, she says police issued one 90 day immediate roadside prohibition with 30 day vehicle impoundment and four provincial roadside suspensions for alcohol.
In addition to checking drivers for impairment, police also issued four tickets to drivers with no licenses, three tickets to drivers without insurance, four tickets to drivers driving contrary to restrictions and two tickets to prohibited drivers.
