27 new cases of COVID-19 in Northern Health

VICTORIA — Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 619 new cases of COVID-19 in British Columbia today (Dec.9).

Twenty-seven of those new cases were in Northern Health though the bulk were in Fraser Health with 384 new cases. There were five in Island Health, 121 in Vancouver Coastal Health and 81 in Interior Health.

Sadly, sixteen more people have died bringing the provincial death toll to 559. There were no new deaths in Northern Health where the death toll remains at nine.

There are 9,329 active cases of the virus, 338 of those people are hospitalized – 75 of whom are in intensive care or critical care.
