Suspicious incident near Prince George elementary school

PRINCE GEORGE — Local Mounties say there was a suspicious incident shortly after 8 a.m. this morning near 17th Avenue and Hemlock Street.

“The report advised that the driver of a vehicle approached an elementary aged youth and offered them some food. The driver allegedly got out of the vehicle and spoke further with the youth who continued on their way. The driver then left the area,” says Prince George RCMP Cst. Jennifer Cooper.

The driver is described as:

  • White
  • Dark Hair
  • Approximately 5 foot 10
  • Muscular build
  • Wearing a grey sweatshirt

The vehicle is described as:

  • Green in colour
  • 4-door, possibly a hatchback
  • Possibly an import model

Mounties ask anyone in the area with security cameras to please call them at (250)561-3300.

“The investigation is ongoing. Investigators would like to speak to the persons or persons involved,” adds Cooper.

“At this time, police would also like to remind the adult public that it is not appropriate to approach school-aged children not known to you.”
