PRINCE GEORGE – Members of the Lheidli T’enneh gathered this morning to honour a pair of students who have done exceptionally well in the studies this year.

Lucas Joseph, 16, is currently attending Prince George Secondary School and says he’s earing up to eventually head into either the College of New Caledonia or UNBC or both. Rayne Ririe, 14, also attends PGSS and has aspirations of becoming a pediatric surgeon.

“Council and Administration want to say congratulations for Lucas and Rayne for showing educational excellence despite the challenges presented this year by the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Dayi Clay Pountney, Chief of the Lheidli T’enneh. “Both students found ways this year to overcomes the obstacles to learning presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Both students were given a ceremonial smudging feather and, on the lighter side, Spikeball.
