91 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Northern Health, 49 new deaths in B.C.

PRINCE GEORGE – Northern Health has 91 new cases of COVID-19 as BC Health Officials report 2,146 new cases of the virus since Friday.

BC has also crossed over 10,000 active cases of the virus for the first time ever.

Provincially, we sit at 10,039 active cases, with 42,943 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

Three more people in Northern Health have died due to COVID-19 over the weekend, as 49 people lost their lives across the province.

There are 359 people hospitalized with the virus, an increase of 17 since Friday, and 87 people provincially in critical care, no change since Friday.

Good news as the first doses of the Pfizer-Biontech Vaccine will be administered Tuesday in BC, all of those given to healthcare workers in the Lower Mainland.

658 new cases between Friday and Saturday, 689 between Saturday and Sunday, and 759 between Sunday and Monday.

31,201 people who have tested positive for COVID-19 have now recovered.
