PRINCE GEORGE – In anticipation of their season starting back up, the Prince George Spruce Kings are making moves.

The Spruce Kings announced they acquired defenceman Josh Wright (’01) from the Brantford 99ers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) in exchange for future considerations.

“Josh is a veteran d-man with good size and skills. He will be a great addition to our team when we are able to play this season and certainly for next season,” said General Manager Mike Hawes in a release.

The 19-year-old from Woodstock, ON finished last season with 3 goals and 11 assists in 43 regular season games played as a member of the Trenton Golden Hawks of the OJHL. The right-handed 6-foot-2 defender also had 4 helpers in 4 playoff games in 2019-20.

Wright has previously spent time with the Woodstock Navy Vets and the London Nationals. He was voted team Rookie of the Year as a member of the Navy Vets in 2018.
