Seven PG Junior Hockey alumni crack NHL training camp rosters

PRINCE GEORGE – Training camp for the NHL’s 31 teams officially got underway on Sunday with six former Prince George Cougars and one former Prince George Spruce King on camp rosters.

The seven teams that did not qualify for the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs were allowed to open up their training camp on December 31.

The NHL season will see its first puck drop on Wednesday, January 13th. The opening day of the schedule will see five games, including Montreal at Toronto and Vancouver in Edmonton. The 56-game regular season runs until May 8th.

Below, is a list of former Prince George junior hockey players on NHL Training Camp rosters by team:

Anaheim Ducks: Brendan Guhle (Prince George Cougars, 2016-2017)

Detroit Red Wings: Dennis Cholowski (Prince George Cougars, 2017-2018)

Edmonton Oilers: Jujhar Khaira (Prince George Spruce Kings, 2010-2012)

Florida Panthers: Brett Connolly (Prince George Cougars, 2008-2011)

Toronto Maple Leafs: Martin Marincin (Prince George Cougars, 2010-2012)

Washington Capitals: Zdeno Chara (Prince George Cougars, 1996-1997)

Winnipeg Jets: Jansen Harkins (Prince George Cougars, 2013-2017)
