VICTORIA — 625 new cases of COVID-19 in BC, 43 in Northern Health.

Here’s the regional breakdown:

• Vancouver Coastal Health: 178
• Fraser Health: 305
• Island Health: 28
• Interior Health: 71
• Northern Health: 43

There are 6,343 active cases down from 6,472 yesterday, 381 people are in hospital, 78 of whom are in intensive care.

The number of active cases in Northern Health fell to 426 from 464 yesterday. Thirty-nine people are hospitalized in this region – 15 of whom are in critical care.

Eight new deaths bringing the provincial death toll to 962. One of those deaths was in Northern Health raising the death toll in northern B.C. to 32.

To date, 33,665 people have received a COVID-19 vaccine in B.C.
