PRINCE GEORGE – The stats may be fuzzy, but according to the City 5679 dog licenses have been issued though a number of dogs are still not licensed.

Why? Over the past few months, some residents have taken to getting a dog as a companion to help them through this pandemic and some believe that has increased the usage of dog park areas.

One popular spot is Ginter’s Meadow, which is busy with dogs and people getting in their morning exercise. The field and paved paths have become the go-to place for many dog owners.

Annie Booth is a dog owner and a proponent of developing more dog parks like Ginter’s Meadow and the city acknowledges it is looking at expanding dog park amenities.

Councillor Cori Ramsay encourages residents to voice their concerns and support if they want these dog parks approved by the council in the upcoming budget cycle.
