Exterior Upgrades to Increase Seniors Confidence at the Silver Birch Lodge!
This #ThrowbackThursday, and we’re excited to revisit an incredible project that came to life in early July. The Fraser Lake and District Senior Citizen Home Society's Silver Birch Lodge completed a significant safety upgrade to their exterior - which has already increase the sense of safety for the residents. With a contribution of $13,000 through the Integris Community Foundation, this initiative involved replacing a worn brick sidewalk and installing new cement pads in two parking stalls, markedly improving safety and accessibility for the senior residents. Completed from July 2 to July 18, 2024, these improvements not only enhance the look of the facility but more importantly, they significantly increase the well-being of the residents by reducing the risk of falls. These changes enable the seniors to engage more confidently in outdoor activities, fostering both their physical health and emotional well-being. The success of these upgrades is clearly visible in the increased use of the new paths by the residents, who now feel safer and more confident as they move around. The benefits continue into winter, as these improvements will simplify snow removal and increase safety, ensuring a more accessible environment during the colder months. We are grateful for the opportunity to make such a meaningful impact in the lives of our senior residents in Fraser Lake. It’s a reflection of our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our community members and what it means to live Life Out Here!
