76 new cases of COVID-19 in Northern Health

VICTORIA — British Columbia’s provincial government has announced 564 new cases of COVID-19 today, including 76 in Northern Health. That brings the total number of cases since the pandemic began to 62,976.

Here’s the regional breakdown:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 111
  • Fraser Health: 234
  • Island Health: 47
  • Interior Health: 95
  • Northern Health: 76

Currently, there are 4,450 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C., 309 people are in hospital with COVID-19, 68 of whom are in intensive care.

A further 6,816 people are under active public health monitoring as a result of identified exposure to known cases, and a further 56,010 people who tested positive have recovered.

“To date, 104,901 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in B.C., 1,680 of which are second doses,” says Health Minister Adrian Dix and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.

Sadly, there’s been 15 more deaths bringing B.C.’s death toll to 1,119.
