Community COVID-19 map shows 76 cases in Prince George last week

PRINCE GEORGE — The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) has released its latest numbers breaking down the number of COVID-19 infections per community in B.C.

The latest map details the week of Jan.10 to Jan.16 and shows that 76 people contracted COVID-19 in Prince George, a drop from 108 from Jan. 3 to Jan. 9. It also shows the number of cases have increased dramatically in Fort Nelson, which increased by 31 cases to 40.

Here are the numbers for other communities and regions in the northern Interior and northern B.C.:

Quesnel: 4 (no change from the week before)

Burns Lake: 33: (up 13 from the week before)

Peace River South: 8 (down one from the week before)

Nechako: 31 (up 11 from the week before)

Smithers: 32 (up 7 from the week before)

Terrace: 69 (up 25 from the week before)

Kitimat: 11 (up one from the week before)

Peace River North: 37 (down 10 from the week before)

Nisga’s: 17 (down 12 from the week before)

Prince Rupert: 7
