RCMP dog lends a paw in search for missing senior

PRINCE GEORGE — RCMP Dog Services saved the day Monday evening when an elderly man went missing in the West Lake area.

RCMP were advised that the 83-year-old had gone missing just after 5:30 p.m. while he was out for a walk with his wife.

Police say his wife lost sight of him and because night was beginning to fall, she called police.

Thankfully with the help of Police Dog Services, the man was located in the bush and brought to safety a few hours later.

“The Prince George RCMP are proud of the quick response by frontline members and the Police Dog Services team,” says Cst. Jennifer Cooper. “Their efforts ensured this story ended well for all of those involved.”
