Man in critical condition after stabbing: RCMP

UPDATED – RCMP have closed off Vancouver street downtown Prince George between 10th avenue and 11th avenue in relation to the stabbing.

A man is in critical condition at the University Hospital of Northern BC after police found him with multiple stab wounds Saturday morning

Prince George RCMP say they found a man suffering from stab wounds shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday in the basement of a residence on the 1100 block of Victoria Street.

RCMP say at this point, investigators believe this was a targeted event and that the victim and suspect know one another.

Multiple witnesses have already provided their statements to police and are being cooperative according to police who say the public is not at risk

RCMP say this investigation is in its early stages, the initial report to police was that the stabbing was at the Victoria Street location.

There is no word if RCMP have the suspect in custody.
