Two Rivers Gallery exhibition considers the importance of human connection during the pandemic

PRINCE GEORGE — Art lovers in Prince George will have the opportunity to take in a new exhibition at Two Rivers Gallery starting Thursday (Feb.4).

‘I Miss Your Faces’ was created by local artist Audrey McKinnon and considers the importance of human connection during the COVID-19 pandemic. It features large scale portraits of the artist, her family and friends.

Assistant Curator Meghan Hunter-Gauthier says this exhibition is also about impermanence.

“McKinnon’s wall-paintings will be removed once this exhibition is over – this affirms that nothing lasts forever, including this pandemic.”

So, what does McKinnon hope the public take away from her work?

“I want them to feel like they’ve been in someone’s presence. I express myself on these walls quite a bit and I’ve missed doing that, being around people,” she says.

“So, I hope they come in here and they walk around multiple times and really explore the space. And feel like they’ve really been in somebody’s presence. Something that we’ve missed.”

The public is invited to attend a Facebook Live Artist Talk that will take place on the Two Rivers Gallery Facebook page Thursday, Feb.4 at 7:30 p.m.
