465 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., 52 in Northern Health

VICTORIA — The British Columbia government has announced 465 new cases of COVID-19 in the province, 52 in the Northern Health region.

Here’s the regional breakdown:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 98
  • Fraser Health: 234
  • Island Health: 27
  • Interior Health: 54
  • Northern Health: 52

Since the pandemic began, 69,245 people have contracted the virus, 62,078 of whom have recovered.

“There are 4,447 active cases of COVID-19 in the province,” says Provincial Health Officer Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix. “There are 257 individuals currently hospitalized with COVID-19, 76 of whom are in intensive care.”

To date, Henry and Dix says 145,567 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in B.C., 8,097 of which are second doses.

There have been six more deaths bringing the provincial death toll to 1,240.
