Tree-mendous PG duo finding success in wood decor

PRINCE GEORGE – It was once a garage, but now it’s a full-on studio filled with creations from VL Studiodesign.

It’s been a year since Len Mccroary and his partner Vicky Angleheart started using reclaimed wood to make custom decor for clients in and around Prince George.

“It all started with one friend who asked us to make something,” says Len. “I think we’ve made over 100 pieces over the last year.”

The duo both works day jobs, but when they come home from a long days work Mccroary says he’s happy to enjoy his ‘serenity’ of a workshop and make wood art.

He says he can’t reveal the entire process to make some of his masterpieces, but says depending on the size some can take days to complete, others can be complete in merely a night’s work.

“Every piece is a little bit different,” says Len.

The pair has made some large pieces, some smaller ones, but Len says the sentimental pieces are his favourite.

The pair recently completed a special motivational piece for local business owner Dean Coleman who has been battling cancer.
