PRINCE GEORGE – Environment Canada has issued a special air quality statement for Prince George, Quesnel, Vanderhoof and other regions across the BC’s Central Interior as of Sunday afternoon.

Environment Canada says high concentrations of fine particulate matter are to blame for the advisory.

Those with difficulty breathing or those with chronic conditions such as asthma, COPD, heart disease, and diabetes; respiratory infections such as COVID-19, pregnant women, infants, and older adults, should postpone strenuous activity until conditions improve.

Anyone experiencing symptoms such as continuing eye or throat irritation, chest discomfort, shortness of breath, cough or wheezing, should follow the direction of their doctor or their healthcare professionals.
