PRINCE GEORGE – There is a continuous demand for staying healthy and physically active during this pandemic.

As a result, the City of Prince George is looking to extend the seasonal use of ice surface facilities.

When the public health orders were put into place last March all the ice surfaces in the city were closed.

In August public ice surfaces began to slowly open up. Most of the available ice surface times are booked.

Pre-COVID the City typically kept some ice arenas open until May as user groups wound down their seasons.

The Province has a four-phase restart plan to fully open up sports facilities.

Currently, The City is maintaining five hockey ice surfaces under the phase 2 public health order.
