TYH: Child anxiety
PRINCE GEORGE — The COVID-19 pandemic has been difficult on children.
Due to provincial health orders, the Province has limited the amount of face-to-face social interaction kids can have. In many kids, it’s heightened child anxiety, something the Canadian Mental Health Association says is no surprise.
“One of the biggest things that people need to remember is that anxiety is normal. There is a point where it’s excessive or it’s unreasonable for the circumstances that’s occurring or if it’s occurring without reason, then we might be looking at an anxiety disorder,” says Mary Lu Spagrud, manager, education, and projects at the Canadian Mental Health Association.
