Elderly man killed in two-vehicle crash south of 150 Mile House

150 MILE HOUSE —One person is dead following a two-vehicle collision just south of 150 Mile House early Sunday morning.

North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says the Williams Lake RCMP and Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services were called to the scene of a collision on Highway 97 at Omeretto Road.

One on scene, she says investigators discovered that a Chev Cruz and a Dodge pickup had collided.

“Sadly the driver of the Chev Cruz, an 81-year-old man, had died at the scene,” says Saunderson. “The driver of the pickup was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.”

She says the collision closed the highway for a period of time but has since reopened. While the investigation is ongoing, police do not believe alcohol was a factor.
