Man charged in connection with Smithers homicide

SMITHERS — One person has been charged in connection to a homicide in Smithers that occurred on Feb.8, 2020.

North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says the BC Prosecution Service has approved a second degree murder charge against Michael Egenolf.

On Feb. 8, 2020, Smithers RCMP responded to a rural residence where they found Brodie Cumiskey dead.

Egenolf has been held in custody and was scheduled to appear in court on March 2.
