City crews repairing water main on Willow Cale Road

PRINCE GEORGE —City crews are busy repairing a water main this afternoon.

The City says a few dozen businesses in the BCR Site are without water this afternoon as a result.

“The break occurred early this afternoon in a 35cm pipe in the 8200 block of Willow Cale Road. The break destabilized part of the road and crews have shut down vehicle access on either side of Willow Cale as a precaution. Emergency vehicle access is still available,” says the city.

The cause of the ruptured line is unknown at this time. The line was installed in 1985. A repair operation is underway and expected to take until tomorrow morning for crews to complete and for water service to be restored to the affected businesses.

The City says it has not received any reports of flooded structures. Residents who experience cloudy water once service is restored are asked to run taps until the water runs clear.”
