Green burial now an option at the Prince George’s Memorial Park Cemetery

PRINCE GEORGE – The City of Prince George is now offering options for those choosing to have an eco-friendly burial.

Prince George’s Memorial Park Cemetery has an area dedicated to those wanting a new alternative and environmentally friendly burial option called ‘green burial.’

There is a one-acre section set aside, wanting to decompose naturally. The area is treed and located at the edge of the cemetery.

Those buried in the green burial section have less of an impact on the environment.

The impact on the environment is low, as those buried here share a grave marker. Residents interested in purchasing a plot within the green burial section can contact the Cemetery Administration.
