PRINCE GEORGE — More COVID-19 exposure events in the Prince George School District.

This comes, as Northern Health issued an alert on March 23, for a possible Covid-19 exposure at D.P. Todd Secondary, between March 11-12. This event marks the schools fourth exposure since September 2020, but the quarantine period ends on March 26.

Heather Park Elementary was also warned on March 22 of a potential exposure on March 11-12, making it the school’s fifth exposure event. The self-monitoring period ends on March 26.

Lastly, College Heights did see the most recent exposure event, as it was alerted on March 22 of an exposure that occurred between March 15-17. This did mark the schools fourth exposure, and the self-monitoring end date will be on March 31.

Northern Health’s’ school exposure contact tracing is determined through how the individual was infected, and who they were in close contact with.

Close contacts are determined by Public Health by working closely with the school and school district.

Though once the contacts are identified, they are notified and are advised to self isolate and monitor their symptoms for 14 days.

To date, 23 local School District 57 and three private institutions in Prince George have been warned for a Covid-19 exposure event.
