DAWSON CREEK — There’s been a drug bust in the Dawson Creek area.

Dawson Creek RCMP S/Sgt. Damon Werrell says it started early last month when police there became aware of a drug supply line coming into Dawson Creek from Alberta.

He says it led to a six week investigation which included hours of “covert surveillance and collection of evidence.”

On Sunday night (Mar.21), Werrell says it led the Dawson Creek RCMP to execute a search warrant on a rural property in the area.

He says it yielded the following:

-over an ounce of cocaine
-an ounce of methamphetamine
-15 ounces of GHB
-2 ounces of an unknown substance believed to be illicit drugs
-a small amount of fentanyl and pills
-scales and buffing agents
-tally and scoresheets dating back to mid-2020
-Canadian currency
-ammunition
-2x imitation hand guns
-a collapsible baton

Werrell says the homeowner was arrested on scene and will be facing numerous drug trafficking and weapons-related charges.

He says it’s one of several search warrants executed by local Mounties over the last year to combat the sale and distribution of illicit drugs in the South Peace.
