Over 5 people die per day due to illicit overdoses in February

VICTORIA — Yet another tragic month when it comes to illicit overdose deaths in this province.

The BC Coroners Service says there were 155 illicit drug toxicity deaths in February, the 11th consecutive month in which the province has recorded more than 100 deaths.

In fact the total number of deaths is the largest ever recorded in the month of February and an increase of 107 per cent over the total number of deaths in February 2020.
