Cougars let lead slip as Blazers complete 5-4 comeback win
PRINCE GEORGE – After leading 3-1 after the first opening 20 minutes of play, the Prince George Cougars ran out of gas in the third period as the Kamloops Blazers came back to win 5-4 at the Sandman Centre.
It had been 386 days since the Cougars last stepped onto the ice. The Blazers meanwhile came into the game having played just one night before, defeating the Vancouver Giants 7-3.
Four minutes and 57 seconds into the opening period, the Blazers opened the scoring. Logan Stankoven rifled a shot past Cougars’ Taylor Gauthier for his second of the season after tallying one against the Giants on Friday night.
