PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Cougars announced forward Mitch Kohner (’02) has been sent to the Spokane Chiefs on a one-year loan agreement.

“We’re happy to find Mitch a spot to play and continue his development this season,” said Cougars’ General Manager & Head Coach Mark Lamb. “With the ongoing border restrictions, we were unable to bring him into our cohort for the BC Division season. We look forward to tracking his progress in Spokane.”

Kohner, 18, has played in 108 career Western Hockey League games over two seasons. Last year, he set career highs in goals (8), assists (6), and points (14). The product of Rosemont, MN product was originally selected by the Cougars in the 10th-round, 201st overall, in the 2017 WHL Draft.

Kohner will be returned to the Cougars at the conclusion of the 2020-21 season. Defenceman Hudson Thornton (’03) has joined the team in Kamloops and is completing his mandatory quarantine period before joining team activities later this week.
