PRINCE GEORGE — The YMCA of Northern BC is hoping to raise $60,000 dollars to support children and youth to participate in YMCA camps and programs. To that end, the Y unveiled its donor wall today.

The campaign began with donations from every member of the board of directors and the commitment from many staff members of payroll deductions, followed by public donations toward the goal.

YMCA’s Megathon surpassed its goal of $10,000, which brought the grand total to $33,000.

“We are incredibly grateful for the campaign’s success thus far. Now more than ever, our community needs our Y. We are well on our way to reaching that goal and ask that the community can continue their support to ensure that all children and families can continue to reach their potential,” says YMCA CEO, Amanda Alexander.

Alexander adds, that today did mark the end to the end to public campaign month, which was followed by the unveiling of YMCA’s Donor wall.

However, the Strong Kids Campaign occurs throughout the year, so Individuals are still encouraged to donate on ymca/donate.
