PRINCE GEORGE – April marks Construction Month and the Northern BC Construction Association celebrated the event by providing pizza to workers on the pool construction site.

“This is the second annual Construction Month and, really, it’s being put on by the BC Construction Association. We are just a partner within that. It’s really just an opportunity to recognize the work that’s being done by these people who have been working under extreme conditions under COVID,” explains Scott Bone, CEO of the NBCCA.

In fact, according to the BC Construction Association, 205,500 people worked for 25,817 construction companies in December 2020. Bone says there is about $120 billion in construction going on right now in BC, and $60 billion of that is in the North.

And Build Force, an industry publication, anticipates that trend is expected to continue for the next three years.
