PRINCE GEORGE — Good Friday was not a good day for wildfires in the Cariboo region.

A 6.4-hectare wildfire was discovered 2km west of Lees Corner on Friday (April 2).

It’s one of the first wildfires in the Cariboo region in 2021, after most B.C. wildfires have been in the Kamloops region.

Fire Information Officer Kyla Fraser encourages anyone who comes across a wildfire to keep clear of the scene, especially if crews are on site.
