PRINCE GEORGE – The BC provincial government has announced new ways to try and employ youth and give them the practical experience to transition to a full-time position.
The program will create opportunities for 5,000 young British Columbians thanks to a new $45 million fund.
“This pandemic has set back many young people from starting their careers. We’re providing first-rate training and in-demand jobs that can lead to fulfilling, long-term careers,” said Premier John Horgan.
During the pandemic, stats show youth unemployment peaked at 29% in BC, over 15 percentage points above the provincial average.
