PRINCE GEORGE — Jonny Hooker scored his fifth goal of the B.C. Western Hockey League (WHL) Hub season Friday (April 23) evening, but it wasn’t enough in a 5-1 loss to the Kelowna Rockets.

Hooker’s goal tied the game 1-1 on the power play with just over four minutes remaining in the second period before the Rockets’ Tyson Feist responded three minutes later with the eventual game winning goal.

Cougars goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 31 saves in the effort.

Prince George fell to 4-7-2 on the shortened WHL season, good for 10 points in 13 games. They sit third in the B.C. WHL standings, but only lead the Rockets by two points. Kelowna also has seven games in hand.

The Cougars are off until Monday (April 26) when they face the Victoria Royals in Kamloops.
