
Five Prince George arts organizations receive funding from B.C. government
PRINCE GEORGE — Numerous arts and culture organizations, as well as artists in Prince George and area received funding from the B.C. Government.
In Prince George, the Exploration Place and Theatre NorthWest each received $50,000 grants as part of the province’s B.C. Economic Recovery Plan. The Community Arts Council of Prince George and District received $35,575 while Two Rivers Gallery received $30,000 and Method Dance Society received $10,000.
The B.C. Arts Council administered the grants to support artists and organizations that have found ways to keep creating and reaching their audiences amidst temporary closures and restricted gatherings.
Along with the Prince George recipients, Barkerville Historic Town and Park received $37,620, Island Mountain Arts in Wells received $39,500, and Kiwanis Arts Century Society in Dawson Creek received $8,000.
