$10 Million to support Avalanche Canada’s vital work
PRINCE GEORGE – Avalanche Canada is receiving a $10 million contribution from the provincial government. In an effort to support its work in developing and delivering avalanche safety and awareness for the province’s mountainous regions.
According to government officials, the interest in winter recreation grows and the frequency of extreme weather increases due to climate change work therefore it’s vital to support the work of Avalanche Canada.
About 75% of all Canadian avalanche fatalities occur in B.C., and about 90% of Avalanche Canada’s services are delivered in this province.
