Excessive speed leads to impaired investigation

QUESNEL — RCMP say speed and alcohol were factors in the arrest of a motorist last Thursday night in Quesnel.

Just before 7 that night, police witnessed a black Dodge pickup speeding on Highway 97 near Dragon Hill Road. When police attempted to pull the pickup over, the truck sped southbound on Highway 97.

A witness said the truck was travelling dangerously on Gook Road then onto Quesnel-Hydraulic Road dangerously before being located a short time later at a local business where the male driver was arrested without incident.
